Our History
The Valley View Educational Enrichment Foundation was incorporated in March 1990 by Richard Kavanagh (former School Board President), Dr. Harry Hayes (former Valley View Superintendent), and Madeline Jascewsky with the help of School District Attorney Barry Moss. The Foundation was formed to help those teachers who wanted to go above and beyond for their students. They were reaching into their own pockets and reaching out wherever they could to make a difference in the lives of our children.
The Foundation is a registered not-for-profit, 501(c) (3), corporation. The Foundation is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors, composed of business and community members, from Bolingbrook and Romeoville. As a result of the volunteerism, funds raised go toward the programs, not salaries. The major fundraising event for Foundation is a dinner and auctions held in March of each year. Other activities through the years have included the Annual Golf Outing, Sauces & Spirits, Community Spelling Bee, and alternating annual Raise-A-Stink and Quacks for Greenbacks Duck Race events.
