Grant Application Process
Things you should know before submitting
The Valley View Educational Enrichment Foundation accepts grants starting November 1st, and the last day to submit a grant is January 31st.
There are two different grant applications. One for programs requesting $750 or less, and one for programs requesting between $751 and $2000.
Grant applications may be downloaded via this website, or requested from the Foundation.
In order to be considered, the grant application must be typed. Handwritten submissions are not eligible for consideration. For your convenience, all application pdf files available for download on this website are fillable pdfs.
Before submission, filled grant applications must be submitted to the principal of the receiving school for review. The Principal will then fill out a “supplement to grant application” form that will be submitted along with the grant application.
It is recommended that grant applications be submitted to the principals office no later than 3 weeks before the submission deadline in order to allow time to modify a grant application if necessary.
Once all grant applications have been received, and the deadline has passed, the grants application chair will remove all identifying information such as name, email, and phone number.
Copies of the applications will then be submitted to an anonymous committee of judges who will score each grant against the set of criteria established by the Foundation Board.
Once all applications have been independently judged and scored, the results will be compiled into a ranked list for review by the Foundation Board.
Each years grant budget is set once fundraising revenues are totaled after the annual Foundation Dinner event.
Once the Foundation Board sets the budget and approves the list of grants to be funded, the anonymous list of applications will be submitted to the District Administration for review to ensure compliance with all applicable local and state laws.
After this review, the finalized approved grants list is submitted to the School Board at their first regular meeting for their acceptance of the grant funds.
Once approved and accepted by the School Board, grant applicants are notified on the approval status of their applications, typically before the current school year dismisses for the summer. Grant recipients then have the option to obtain materials for the approved programs in time for the start of the next school year.
